What you might be noticing

Kids tell us in behavior
before they tell us in words.

Most parents we see have a quiet feeling something's off, and then a list of small evidence that doesn't quite add up.

How sessions work

Built with you, not around you.

We start with you.

The first session is parent-only. You bring us up to speed, what you're seeing, what's already been tried, what worries you most. We name what we're working toward together.

Your child meets us on their terms.

For younger kids, that's play, art, sand tray, and somatic work, the language they actually speak. Teens get real conversation, no clipboard, no checklists. Sessions are weekly to start.

You stay in the loop.

We check in with you every few weeks, what we're seeing, what we're working on, and what to try at home. Confidentiality holds the relationship; communication keeps you a real partner.

What we work with

Most of what kids carry
isn't loud.

We work with kids and teens whose pain hasn't found language yet, and with the parents who've been holding it alongside them. Our training is in attachment, somatic, and trauma-informed approaches adapted for younger nervous systems.

"If you've been told your kid is 'fine' but you know something's not, we want to hear what you're seeing."

Parent FAQ

Honest answers, no clinical speak.

How young is too young for therapy?

We see kids starting at age 5. With younger kids, "therapy" looks like play, and play is how their nervous system processes. If you're not sure your child is ready, that's exactly what the free consult is for.

How much will you tell me about what happens in session?

We'll share themes, what we're working on, and what to try at home. We won't repeat session content word-for-word, that's what builds trust with your child. With teens especially, the relationship works because they know what stays between us (and what doesn't, safety always overrides).

What if my child refuses to come?

Common, normal, workable. We start with you, sometimes parent-coaching alone shifts the whole system. When your child is ready, the door is open, and the first session is designed to make it easy to come back.

Do you do family sessions?

Yes, when it serves the child's work. We'll fold in siblings, partners, or co-parents based on what's actually going to help, not on a fixed format.

What about teens?

Teens get the version of therapy we wish more adults had at 16. Honest, direct, no condescension, no surface-level coping skills as a substitute for real conversation.

Do you accept insurance?

Private-pay practice. We provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. Good Faith Estimates available on request.

Virtual or in-person?

Both. Younger kids tend to do better in person at the office. Teens often prefer telehealth from their own room.

How will I know it's working?

You'll see it before you can name it, fewer 8pm meltdowns, an easier morning, a shoulder that drops in the car. We'll also check in formally every few months on what's changed.
